St. John’s
maintains an emergency food pantry, designed to service transients and people
with little in the way of cooking facilities.
Its pantry is not intended for long-term support. Along with other members of the Lewistown
Ministerial Association, we support a larger Food Pantry, “Mother Hubbard’s
Cupboard,” located at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, on South Main Street, in downtown
Lewistown. We also have associations
with Shelter Services, Inc., on Dorcus Street and the
Salvation Army, both of which have emergency food services. St.
John’s is also a sponsor of the Angel Food Ministries,
operating under the direction of the Lewistown Ministerial Association, with
monthly distributions from the Brooklyn Fire Company.
For information on any of these programs, please call the
church office at (717)248-8780.
