Confession & Absolution
Trusting in the word of life given in baptism, we gather in the name of the Father, and of the (+) Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
As God’s beloved children, let us call to mind our need for forgiveness and reconciliation.
(confession)
God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him might not perish, but have everlasting light. In Him, your sins are forgiven. Walk, then, as children of the light.
Prayer of the Day
Almighty and ever-living God, with mercy you look upon our weaknesses. Stretch out your wondrous hand to protect us from danger and restore us to health, through Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord, whom with you and the Holy spirit we worship and praise, one God, now and forever. Amen.
Prayer of the Church
As God’s beloved children, let us pray with boldness and confidence for the church, the world, and for all people in need.
Lord of the church, we pray that your church may be a place of healing and reconciliation. Grant us your healing power. Lord, in your mercy,
We pray for the nations, that they might beat their swords into plowshares, and that justice and righteousness might be restored, that the nations of the world might experience your healing and reconciling love. Lord, in your mercy,
We pray for families in conflict, victims of violence, for those who mourn and for those who are lonely; we remember the sick of body, mind or spirit. Be present to them, heal and protect them. Lord, in your mercy,
We pray for those who are on our hearts today, and especially those whom we now lift up to your throne of grace …. Lord, in your mercy,
We thank you for Martin Luther King, and for all of your faithful people of every time and place. May the witness of these faithful men and women inspire our faith, and help us to walk in their steps. Lord, in your mercy,
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Great Thanksgiving Preface
It is indeed right, our duty and our joy, that we should at all times and in all places give thanks and praise to you, almighty and merciful god. Sharing our life, your Christ lived among us to reveal your glory and love, that our darkness should give ay to his own brilliant light. And so, with all the choirs of angels, with all the faithful of every time and every place, we praise your name and join their unending hymn:
Post-Communion Prayer
God of glory,
You have united us in the body of your own Son. May we who have been guests at His table grow in love for one another, that through us your light may shine in all the world, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Blessing
May God, who lightens our path, accompany us in all our journeys. The Lord bless us and keep us. The Lord make his face to shine on us. The Lord look upon us with His favor, and give us peace. In the name of the Father, and of the (+) Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen
