The Angel Tree is a yearly project of St. John’s Lutheran
Church, along with other
churches and organizations in the community.
Started out of the trunk of the car of one of our members, it has grown
over the years, and now serves over three hundred families in the area. Every year, families in the congregation are
encouraged to take an “ornament” from the Christmas tree on which the “wish
list” of a child is written, and obtain gifts for that child. These are collected, wrapped by our youth, and
placed in bags for pick-up by the children’s parents.
Need is determined by the Salvation Army; The Lewistown
Public Library gives each child an age-appropriate book, which is included in
the package of gifts.
